AUGUST 16, 2018 – Following on from recent info regarding lack of 4U1UN activity here’s some good news:

“It’s been a while since the last update but I have some news to share. We’re one step closer to being back on the air. As some may know, Dmitri Zhikharev RA9USU along with Adrian Ciuperca KO8SCA have been working with me behind the scenes to get the station operational again. Through the generous donations of Dima and his associates (notably Ed Kritsky NT2X), we were able to get a rack mounted K3, Acom 2000 linear amplifier, and associated network-enabled control hardware. We were also granted another K3 to act as a remote head from SK Tony N2UN via his widow, and delivered to us by Andrew Bodony K2LE. Finally, Adrian has been doing a lot of behind-the-scenes networking and legwork with his counterparts to help get things done from within the United Nations.
Yesterday represents an additional milestone for the club as Adrian (who did most of the work) and I, finally erected a brand new SteppIR BigIR vertical antenna on the Secretariat’s roof. All that remains is to connect and lay the ground radials, fine-tune the rack mounted devices, and setup and configure the remote K3. Once done and after almost a decade off-air, we can finally call CQ 20 de 4U1UN”.

Cela fait un moment que le dernier Mise à jour mais j’ai des nouvelles à partager. Nous sommes un peu plus près de revenir sur les ondes. Comme certains le savent peut-être, Dmitri Zhikharev RA9USU et Adrian Ciuperca KO8SCA ont travaillé avec moi dans les coulisses pour que la station redevienne opérationnelle. Grâce aux généreux dons de Dima et de ses associés (notamment Ed Kritsky NT2X), nous avons pu obtenir un amplificateur linéaire K3, Acom 2000 monté en rack et le matériel de contrôle associé associé au réseau. On nous a également accordé un autre K3 pour agir comme tête distante de SK Tony N2UN via sa veuve, et nous être livrés par Andrew Bodony K2LE. Enfin, Adrian a beaucoup travaillé en réseau avec ses homologues pour aider à faire avancer les choses au sein des Nations Unies.
